What is the biggest opt-in email service in U.S?

I’m looking for the most reliable opt-in email service in U.S.
It should have a good mailing list, not too old, and categolized so my comany’s newsletter wouldn’t reach to the irrelevant group of people.

There is a type of service that provides newsletters on giveaway campaingns in exchange for personal information in Japan. (The user can choose the category, and receive the certain type of giveaway compaign info.)
Is there the same type of service in U.S.??
Japanese opt-in email service companies usually states how many members they have, when they send your newsletter email to them, how much it costs per email, how many emails can be sent at once, and the segment of members that your emails reach.
I wonder if the american opt-in email service works in a same way.
When I look at them, they usually don’t provide the above information on their website, but provide the free trial.

Does the Evangelical Smear Campaign bother You?

I had an email sent to me by a friend that talked about how the Socialistic Regime that’s about to take control is going to polarize America so much so that America will be unable to recover from all the bad effects on both a political and spiritual level.

It was a smear tactic, but what blows my mind is how so many people actually do not think this stuff though? Socialism is not a bad word. Countries such as France, Germany, and even Canada practice it that has not ended their world. Some could argue on various economic models, but these Evangelicals are not making that argument, instead they are speaking about socialism fears with spirituality. They are saying that should Obama become President, we will wake up tomorrow and become a Socialist State (that probably conjures images of Cold War Soviet Union), although we have been a “Welfare State” since FDR’s New Deal, if you consider Social Security, and the Work Programs. That’s not socialism, nah, that is something else?–NOT. Then the granddaddy socialism by George W, who is bringing our largest defunct banks and insurance companies to be owned by the government (whoops, I meant to say Taxpayers). This does not baffling these evangelicals, instead, they focus on this new cold war threat from Obama. It’s a level of ignorance that is mind boggling, even to drunken third graders who found their teacher’s liquor cabinet.

Do these half-baked tactics bother you. I am not even supporting Obama, but I am beginning to understand what he is talking about, from these little emails that are completely not true. I am totally for bashing Obama, but bash with truths, not a bunch of made up crap that is all ready breaking the 10 Commandments, coming from Christians who see themselves as walking with the righteous. It’s really sick and disturbing.

Does this bother you?

the real question is… which slogan do you think the average joe would react positively to if they were to see it on a white T-shirt, written very carefully and neatly in tulip paint….

~Remember the Constitution?

What department buys are approves the use of viral ads or interactive campaigns for consumer brands?

I am talking about interactive viral web sites for consumer brands, web games, web apps, etc. I am interested in being involved with this type of marketing campaign though I would like to stay on the corporate or client side of marketing. So, I am wondering what type of position I need to go after in order to commision this type of creative and work on such high visibility integrated marketing campaigns.

Email Lists: When a visitor submits a “Request Info” form on my website, is it fair to opt them in to my list?

I know that the best answer is to include an opt in check box on the form.

I’m not willing to do that, though.

My form is extremely simple. Take a look at it here:

http://www.heritage-education.com.

You can see the entire form and it’s obvious that it will only take a minute to fill it out.

I don’t want to add a check box because I feel that that would make people less likely to submit the form.

But, since they are requesting more info, it seems to me like it would be fair game to add them to my email list. I would, of course, give them an easy-to-use opt out option.

Thoughts?
